Best ramen in Hamilton. No contest. You'll have to go to Toronto if you want miso ramen at this level.
They make their soup and noodles all in house and import many ingredients from japan.
Their large bowl is a buck more for about the same amount of noodle and soup. For the buck you get extra pork and another piece of seaweed. Or at least that's what I seem to get. I think it's worth it, but I just really like the seared pork.
Tom, the owner is very friendly and the service is generally good.
Haven't tried their hot pot. No idea if it's good. The rating is based on their miso ramen. So happy to be able to get decent ramen without travelling to Toronto. -

My husband and I were headed to Kenzo, one of our favorite ramen spots but forgot they are closed on Sundays. We walked a little further and came upon o'neko.
There is a serious cat theme happening with the decor inside, so if you are into cats you are in for a treat.
Food wise there are not many options - it's either ramen or hot pot. We chose ramen with 4 or 5 different broth options. I got the spicy miso broth which was pretty good flavor wise. The noodles were ok, and I was very surprised to see lettuce as one of the main vegetables. My ramen came with corn, a piece of seaweed, and an egg. My husband's non spicy ramen was good too.
We ordered the lamb and shrimp skewers to start. The lamb was good but quite gristly. The shrimp was flavored well but hard to eat and very messy. Overall it was good, and I'd like to try the hot pot next time. -

Don't get me wrong the food was ok, no ramen unfortunately , that's really what we came for but the waitress told us right when we came it that it's hot pot day.
Buffet for about $18 a person.
The windows were fogged from the steam of the hot pots and the floor was so slippery That it was hard to walk. The waitress only shuffled around.
The buffet is not really a buffet, so no self service, you get a piece of paper and order, if you don't know what's going on its hard to understand the menu , what broth to order what sauces and what meat? No help of the waitress who was on her own and obviously very overwhelmed with it.
So we wrote down what we thought was appropriate , we didn't want to pay extra and there were a lot of things you had to pay extra for, the waitress pointed that out, at least.
We got the 2 different broths' one spicy one normal both pretty flavorless.
Half of the stuff we ordered was missing. We ordered again two more times but it just never showed up, we did never know if they don't have it or she forgot it.
We drank water, it came with no ice and was never refilled.
When the table next to us left their massive amount of leftovers were sitting on their table with their hot pots boiling strongly for literally 45 minutes.
There are really good hot pot places, and as I said the food was ok, the whole experience though dies not make me come back!
